Me and my little lizards or turtles, depending on the day, at the Reptile Gardens

I am happy to report the REPTILE GARDENS lived up to its name and the reviews I read about it.  Their website recommends getting there in the morning or early evening to beat the crowds.  Wishful thinking was morning -of course we got there smack in the middle of the day 2:30 – it wasn’t that bad except for when it came to getting seats for their shows. Luckily, I strategically left the boring bird show 5 minutes early to get front row seats for the snake show. (Sadly I have discovered none of my children have been gifted with Parselmouth).

Boys and Snake Guy and Really Big Snake

The ‘Snake Guy’ was really cool letting the boys pet one of the many snakes after the show and ask questions.  Only after about 5 minutes he said he had to go because he was also the ‘Crocodile guy’ and had to go and get ready for that show.   I opted not to let the boys stay and pet the crocodiles after that show.

As I am typing my blog I am noticing in this picture my son Aidan is wearing no shoes, where the hell are his shoes?!?! And how long was he walking around the Reptile Gardens without them?!?

Connor and Giant Tortoise

The Tortoises were amazing! This one Connor is next to is about 95 years old and obviously sick of pictures! -As soon as I went to snap a pic it would turn it’s head – I tried 5 different angles and each time it would turn it’s head, rather quickly I might add.

Here’s another real beauty – The American Bald Eagle! (Now if they had this guy doing tricks in the bird show I wouldn’t have left early!)

Fried Taco – Local favorite

Sadly I do not have any pictures from the Crocodile show to share, I set the boys up in the front row but then took Beckett out of his stroller & to the patch of grass near by to run around and stretch his legs. I could’ve stuck him back in the stroller and snapped some pics but honestly it was 6:00 and I was hot, tired and hungry & decided to go find food instead.  I decided to try the local famous dish, the “Fried Taco”- fried dough (like an elephant ear you get at the fair only without the powdered sugar, hmm-that might have been good though) and then all the taco fixings on top.  It was quiet good I may add, either that or it seemed that way since it was the first thing I ate all day!

Happy Happy Day at the Reptile Gardens – The Boys LOVED it, I LOVED it because they all had a GREAT time, no fighting, whining, crying, or complaining!  2 Thumbs UP!

Onto the GIFT STORE and then we will be on our way…
