I am a Stay-at-Home Mom (although you will rarely find me there) raising 4 very energetic boys!  We are always looking for our next big adventure.  Married to the Absolute love of my life who is always supporting me, my crazy projects and the adventures I dream up.

What’s in the name? – More than once I’ve had to remove Dinosaurs off of the table when it was time to eat, one night instead of moving them off I put them on their plates and said we were having Dinosaurs for Dinner!  For my site I use the number 4 to represent my 4 amazing boys.  (Connor 10, Aidan 8, Finn 7 & Beckett 13 mos)

Early Spring of 2013  I felt like my life was running on hyper drive flying by but at the same time I was like a robot just going through the motions.  I knew there was something missing, I just didn’t know what.  I did what I always do when I am feeling lost and confused, I pray.  I prayed and prayed and thanked God for the many blessings he has given me to date and told him I was ready for something else.  I prayed for months waiting and listening for an answer.  One day driving home from a day in Chicago with my family I was looking out the window when my answer came to me, clear as day.  Someone said to me “If I told you, you had 1 week to live, what would you do?  Are you living the life you want to? Would you have any regrets?”  I instantly thought of a handful of things I wanted to do before my time on this earth ended.   I knew the voice was from God, he has spoken to me like this before and has never lead me down the wrong path so I turned to my husband and said, “I am pulling the kids out of school for a year to travel and homeschool them”  My Wonderful loving supporting husband did not take his eyes off of the road for a second but simply replied, ” um…No.”

I knew at this point my idea was a little shocking but I knew it was going to happen, I just had to figure out how.  After many discussions he was 100% onboard.    We informed the school we were not coming back and I packed up for our first adventure.  My 4 boys and I were going to drive from Chicago across the country to California and back.

I know some of you who read this will think I am absolutely nuts, sometimes I feel that way myself but it’s my faith in God that has lead me through the most amazing times of my life so why should I stop now.

I created this Blog to record our journey,  I hope you enjoy following us.

Where we end up next and how we will continue to fund this adventure I do not know but “If God leads you to it, he will get you through it”
